What You’ll Do:Assist product and engineering teams by performing privacy and AI risk assessments for new features and launches, ensuring privacy-by-design principles are integrated into our product development. Review and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), and data-related contract terms, providing counsel on GDPR and U. S. data protection laws. Develop and maintain Datadog’s privacy program, including privacy policies, notices, customer-facing documentation, contractual templates, and M&A privacy diligence. Contribute to Datadog’s AI governance framework by formulating internal policies and guidelines for responsible AI usage, while tracking emerging AI regulatory changes. Support privacy compliance efforts for customers in regulated sectors, including healthcare and financial services. Monitor global developments in privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, and AI legislation, performing gap analyses and implementing necessary compliance measures. Who You Are:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with an active U. S. bar membership.3+ years of relevant experience in privacy law, ideally with a blend of product counseling and commercial negotiations. Understanding of SaaS and cloud infrastructure, along with emerging AI technologies. Proficient knowledge of global privacy and cybersecurity regulations, including U. S. state and federal laws, GDPR, and the EU AI Act. Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both legal and non-legal stakeholders across various functions. Strong organizational abilities and sound judgment, with the capacity to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
