About the job
Join Streamline Innovations as a Process Control Engineer, where you will leverage your expertise in chemical process systems and control theory to drive advanced process optimization and automation projects. The successful candidate will possess a robust theoretical background in traditional process modeling, prediction, and control, complemented by a proficiency in data-driven methodologies.
This position serves as a vital link between classical process control engineering and the forefront of digital transformation, demanding both analytical prowess and creative application of control principles to intricate chemical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement optimized control strategies for both continuous and batch chemical processes.
- Develop dynamic process models, both first principles and empirical, to accurately simulate plant behaviors and assess control performance.
- Tune, maintain, and troubleshoot various control loops, including regulatory and advanced solutions such as PID, cascade, feedforward, and inferential.
- Collaborate closely with operations, R&D, and IT teams in the deployment of model predictive control (MPC), real-time optimization (RTO), and digital twin technologies.
- Assist in process hazard analysis (PHA), management of change (MOC), and the design of safety interlocks (SIS logic).
- Utilize statistical tools and control system data to analyze plant performance, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for enhancement.
- Mentor junior engineers on control concepts and automation systems.
