The Process Engineer plays a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing operations through the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Standard Work Instructions (SWI). This role involves identifying and executing improvement initiatives, performing root cause analyses on production and maintenance challenges, and collaborating with the operations team to achieve program goals. Additionally, you will be engaged in equipment assessments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Standard Work Instructions (SWI).
- Provide analytical and data-driven support to the production team to resolve various operational issues, including those that extend beyond engineering.
- Conduct hands-on root cause analysis for production, engineering, equipment, and maintenance challenges.
- Identify and execute kaizen projects aimed at enhancing productivity and efficiency.
- Oversee process improvements, including implementation, analysis, and optimization.
- Develop Process Control Specifications and Flow Charts.
- Assist in Equipment Runoff at Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).
- Collaborate with the Operations Team to ensure successful program deliverables.
- Lead the development of Value Stream Maps (VSM) for production lines across multiple sites.
- Review PFMEAs, simulations, control plans, and launch deliverables.
- Support plant equipment installation, debugging, launching, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Actively participate in meetings with plants to meet project deliverables.
- Assist all sites with troubleshooting activities, offering solutions for process optimization.
- Handle automation troubleshooting, new equipment installation, and modifications.
- Conduct evaluations of process equipment for implementation.
- Ensure that equipment and systems adhere to relevant standards and legislation.
- Establish equipment installation boards and review progress with OEM and contractors on a weekly/daily basis.
- Lead trial runs at all locations.
- Coach, mentor, and train less experienced team members.
- Support machinery or equipment quotations necessary for processes.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Must be available for travel up to 50% of the time.
