Mission of the Position

As a Process Engineering Intern, you will play a vital role in the planning and implementation of Design of Experiments (DOEs) to enhance the material properties of key PECVD films.

 

Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve executing baseline deposition recipes and collaborating with senior process engineers to optimize PECVD processes to improve film quality and productivity, including defectivity and film uniformity. This hands-on position will take place in a cleanroom environment, utilizing state-of-the-art deposition equipment and characterization tools. You will develop DOE plans and carry out experiments under the guidance of ASM’s process engineers. The analysis of experimental results will be conducted using advanced metrology and characterization tools such as VASE ellipsometry, SP5, EDX, Hg probe, FTIR, AFM, XRR, and nano indentation.

 

Qualifications We Seek

The ideal candidate should have a foundation in materials science and/or plasma physics, with relevant experience or coursework in thin film deposition techniques. Experience in a cleanroom setting and handling vacuum chambers is preferred. Due to the technical complexity of the project, candidates pursuing or holding a Master’s or PhD degree are strongly encouraged to apply.
