Embark on an exciting career with the ATBPU Process Technician Apprenticeship Program, a comprehensive two-year training initiative designed for diploma-qualified Engineering graduates. This program serves as an excellent entry point into the dynamic world of ATBPU refinery operations.
As an Apprentice Process Technician, you will receive structured, hands-on training in various aspects of plant operations, including process monitoring, laboratory sampling, and maintenance support, all under the mentorship of experienced technicians and supervisors. You will rotate through critical operational areas, cultivating essential technical skills and operational discipline. Exceptional apprentices may be offered permanent positions upon completion of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in plant operations and monitoring, including the operation of process and utility units, conducting field inspections, participating in shift tours, and supporting start-up and shutdown procedures under supervision.
- Engage in process control activities, including sample collection, basic field testing, logging operational conditions, and assisting in the adjustment of process variables.
- Develop foundational troubleshooting and maintenance skills by identifying equipment irregularities, aiding in maintenance preparations, and collaborating with Engineering & Maintenance teams.
- Adhere to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards, actively participating in safety briefings and drills, while maintaining exemplary housekeeping practices.
- Exhibit strong communication and teamwork skills, reporting abnormalities, assisting during shift handovers, and supporting Senior Technicians and Supervisors.
