About the job
The Role
At Truemed, we empower individuals to take charge of their health by unlocking pre-tax HSA/FSA funds for preventive care. Our payment infrastructure seamlessly connects health and wellness merchants to billions of dollars in tax-advantaged consumer spending, facilitating smooth HSA/FSA transactions during checkout across various platforms including Shopify storefronts and direct integrations.
As a Product Designer at Truemed, you will play a pivotal role in crafting exceptional user experiences across four primary product surfaces: the consumer checkout and qualification process, the merchant platform and dashboards, the Truemed marketplace, and tools for Clinical Providers. Collaborating closely with our design engineer, you will oversee the entire design process, from user research and problem definition to rapid prototyping and implementation of product enhancements that drive conversion rates, merchant NPS, and consumer trust.
We seek a designer with a deep passion for health and wellness. You leverage AI as a fundamental tool in your workflow, initiating your design process with a large language model (LLM) to clarify user intent, draft interaction flows, and identify edge cases before transitioning into prototyping tools such as Cursor or Claude Code, ultimately refining your designs in Figma. Your efficiency stems from utilizing the best tools available, not from shortcuts. While you have strong opinions on interaction design and visual aesthetics, you remain flexible when data or user feedback suggests otherwise.
This position is not merely about receiving specifications and enhancing their aesthetics. You will engage in thorough research to understand user needs, shape product development, and advocate for the importance of intricate details. If you aspire to take ownership of the design function in a company whose products significantly impact how individuals manage their health expenditures, this is the opportunity for you.
What You Will Do
Lead the design process end-to-end for projects across all product surfaces, ensuring a thorough and iterative approach from problem identification to launch.
Utilize an LLM to clarify user dilemmas, draft interaction flows, and quickly align with product managers and engineers before delving into visual design.
Employ AI tools for prototyping, iterating on flows and lightweight interfaces while guiding the structure, behavior, and quality of the user experience.
Collaborate with product managers to set strategies, define goals, design experiments, and establish success metrics for initiatives, using outcomes to inform future directions.
Conduct self-serve research to validate assumptions and refine the design process based on user feedback.
