As we broaden our platform to cater to the creator economy, we invite applications for the position of Product Quality Engineer with a focus on digital printing, tasked with elevating the quality standards across our custom apparel portfolio and extensive printer network.
This essential role will be responsible for upholding the utmost standards of color fidelity, durability, and technical excellence within our direct-to-film printing operations. You will engage closely with Operations, Supplier Management, and Product teams, serving as the go-to expert on color management and print quality. Your contributions will significantly enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency, helping Jiffy uphold its reputation for rapid turnaround and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee Jiffy’s comprehensive product quality program for direct-to-film printing and custom apparel offerings.
- Develop, document, and implement stringent color management and technical standards across the printer network, incorporating spectrophotometric measurements, ICC profiling, RIP software configurations, and G7 calibration initiatives.
- Establish hue-level standards and reference materials, acting as the internal subject matter expert on CMYK processing, soft proofing, gamut mapping, and device-link profiles.
- Define and maintain product quality specifications and measurable acceptance criteria covering color accuracy, durability, substrates, file preparation, and readiness for press.
- Offer technical support to Operations, Supplier Management, and Product teams; set quality milestones for new product launches.
- Monitor quality performance across a network of third-party print shops by tracking claims, complaints, and defects; conduct remote and on-site audits; maintain a quality health scorecard; initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Establish onboarding standards and evaluation frameworks for new printers; perform hands-on assessments and document baselines.
- Pioneer continuous improvement initiatives leveraging data from claims, NPS, audits, and output analysis; develop analytics dashboards; create training materials, SOPs, and reference guides; enhance pre-press workflows to mitigate downstream issues.
