Elmhurst University is seeking applications for a full-time Professional Track Assistant Professor in Finance within the School of Business. This role is ideal for an educator dedicated to delivering exceptional undergraduate and graduate business education, fostering student engagement, and driving curricular innovation.
The selected candidate will teach both introductory and advanced undergraduate finance courses, in addition to graduate finance courses. While the primary focus of this position is on teaching and mentoring students, faculty members are also encouraged to engage in scholarly activities and professional development to support their growth and advancement.
Our School of Business is actively integrating artificial intelligence into the curriculum. We invite candidates who can thoughtfully incorporate AI tools, particularly for research and analytical applications, into their teaching of finance. Additionally, candidates who are able to teach selected economics and/or accounting courses, or who possess significant corporate or relevant professional experience, will be highly regarded.
Position Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000. The actual salary offered will depend on the candidate's experience, educational background, and departmental budget considerations.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses, including introductory and advanced levels.
- Provide high-quality, student-centered instruction in an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Effectively utilize instructional technologies, including the learning management system.
- Integrate relevant innovations, including AI tools, into teaching methodologies.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Contribute to curriculum development and program enhancements.
- Engage in scholarly activities and/or professional development relevant to the position.
- Maintain flexibility with teaching schedules, modalities, and course assignments to meet program needs.
- Participate in School of Business and University meetings, events, and faculty activities.
- Contribute to shared governance, committee work, and other services appropriate for a professional-track appointment.
- Support initiatives related to curricular innovation, experiential learning, and AI integration across the business curriculum.
- Collaborate with colleagues on assessment, program development, and continuous improvement.
