Role overview
The QA Automation Lead position is fully remote within the EU, with a focus on Romania. This role is responsible for evolving the QA function from manual testing to a scalable, automation-driven, risk-based process. The work combines technical leadership, hands-on automation, and team mentorship.
What you will do
- Lead and mentor a team of four QA engineers.
- Guide the transition from manual testing to automated solutions across the technology stack.
- Design and implement risk-based testing strategies, emphasizing automation maturity.
- Oversee and refine manual QA processes as automation expands.
- Prioritize testing efforts across UI, API/service-level, and manual testing to support a balanced testing pyramid.
- Focus on the quality of mobile applications and the entire user journey.
- Dedicate about 60% of time to hands-on technical work, including direct contributions to automation.
- Shape the vision for QA while staying actively involved in day-to-day execution.
