Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 8 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with dam projects, including inspection, rehabilitation, and/or new design and construction. Proficient in inspection, design, and/or engineering activities related to dams or water-retaining structures. Familiarity with laboratory soil testing procedures of varying complexity. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Preferred Qualifications:10 years or more of relevant experience in dam projects, including inspection, rehabilitation, and/or new design and construction. Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong capabilities in staff supervision, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Outstanding written communication and presentation skills in internal project settings with the project team and external stakeholders.

Join AECOM as a Quality Assurance Laboratory Manager in Panama City, Panama!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily laboratory operations, validating testing requests and preparing work forecasts.
  • Conduct laboratory tests as required, including concrete, aggregate, and advanced soil testing procedures.
  • Perform advanced soil testing methods such as consolidation, UCS rock testing, triaxial, and direct shear tests.
  • Ensure the quality of testing and mentor junior staff members.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment according to specifications, including calibration and routine repairs.
  • Organize the laboratory environment, including soil inventory and equipment management.
  • Possess a solid understanding of ASTM and CSA standards.
  • Engage in CCIL and MTO Proficiency Testing.
  • Draft laboratory testing reports.
  • Supervise and lead QA/QC construction testing and inspections, including field staff orientation and technical report preparation.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, engineering consultants, and external agencies.
  • Prepare proposals for medium to high complexity projects involving various geotechnical scopes of work.
