About the job

The Quality Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring that Silfab Solar's products and processes meet stringent quality standards. This position involves overseeing the quality management system's performance according to established protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement processes and testing procedures that guarantee solar modules and related processes adhere to quality benchmarks and safety regulations while satisfying client expectations.
  • Collaborate with management to create quality controls and Standard Work Instructions (SWIs).
  • Analyze product scrappage and out-of-spec raw materials at different production stages; conduct statistical evaluations, identify corrective actions, and lead root cause analysis efforts.
  • Utilize comprehensive analysis to recommend enhancements to quality controls and SWIs, aiming to minimize scrap and enhance final product performance.
  • Provide ongoing support and training to Quality Technicians, Lead Hands, and Production Operators regarding SWIs and quality/process matters.
  • Generate statistical analyses and reports focusing on the quality of raw materials and finished products.
  • Propose improvements to the Leadership Team regarding production recipes across various process stages and implement approved changes.
  • Develop, test, analyze, and refine manufacturing processes.
  • Prepare and manage PPAP submissions and approvals for customers and suppliers.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and apply corrective and preventive measures.
  • Lead Control Plans, PFMEAs, and associated inspection and testing processes.
  • Maintain proactive defect-prevention initiatives through regular FMEA reviews.
  • Participate in internal and external design reviews.
  • Conduct process, system, and dimensional audits.
  • Perform dimensional layouts and MSA studies for both new and existing programs.
  • Oversee quality-related documentation for new product launches.
  • Implement SPC and coordinate with suppliers and customers as required, including on-site visits.
  • Review supplier SCARs and 8Ds, enhancing supplier quality training and collaborating on necessary actions.
  • Verify the accuracy of RMA claims and manage the in-house RMA program.
  • Work alongside the Leadership Team to create and maintain documentation necessary for the Quality manual in line with ISO standards.
  • Support the Quality Manager in various capacities.
  • Uphold and advocate for company ethics and operational values.
  • Actively contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Ensure continuous enhancement of quality standards for finished products.
  • Assist in minimizing production downtime and product defects through preventive and corrective measures.
