The Quality Inspector for QC Testing & Commissioning is pivotal in ensuring that all construction, testing, and commissioning activities on-site adhere strictly to the established quality standards, project specifications, and inspection protocols. This position entails conducting daily inspections, thorough documentation, coordinating efforts with contractors, and assisting the Quality Manager in upholding comprehensive quality management processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily site inspections to verify compliance with approved Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and project specifications.
- Identify quality deficiencies, non-conformances, or issues proactively, reporting them to the QC Manager for prompt corrective action.
- Ensure all Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) are closed accurately, with the necessary approvals and documentation from relevant discipline engineers.
- Thoroughly review and comprehend project specifications, drawings, Project Quality Plans (PQP), ITPs, method statements, QC procedures, and pertinent quality documentation.
- Assist in witnessing and verifying the sampling and testing of concrete, soil, steel, and other materials in accordance with approved procedures, completing all associated forms.
- Monitor and evaluate quality control practices and safety measures on-site, providing constructive feedback.
- Conduct daily meetings with the contractor's QC representative to reinforce understanding and adherence to quality management procedures.
- Support the Construction team in addressing and resolving quality-related issues effectively.
- Assist the Quality Manager in the preparation and execution of internal and external quality audits.
- Compile daily QC reports and submit them to the QC Manager by 9:00 AM the following day.
- Confirm that all testing and measurement devices utilized have valid calibration certificates.
- Maintain detailed logs of WIRs, MIRs, MARs, and other QC documentation, alerting the Resident Engineer (RE) and Quality Manager (QM) to any discrepancies or coordination issues between disciplines.
