A minimum of two years of postpartum nursing experience within the past five years. Current certification in neonatal resuscitation, or proof of enrollment in a relevant program. Completion of the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario breastfeeding e-learning course is mandatory. Obstetrics nursing certificate is required. Operating room scrub experience or enrollment in an operating room course is preferred. Core competencies include:Current registration and good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Comprehensive knowledge of nursing processes and professional responsibilities. BCLS certification is required. Medication administration certificate and patient assessment course are necessary for RPNs graduating prior to 2005.Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making abilities. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
