About the Role

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Research & Data Analyst to enhance our core data platform at Obviant. In this pivotal role, you will identify, assess, and integrate new data sources and content to ensure that our data is clean, structured, and optimized for analytics, context, and automation. This position demands a unique blend of rigorous research, analytical skills, and practical data handling, making it essential for someone who can effectively connect business requirements with technical execution.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and Onboard New Data Sources: Conduct thorough research to discover, evaluate, and acquire new OSINT sources. Build and nurture relationships with external data providers to continually enhance the platform's capabilities.

  • Perform Strategic Research and Analysis: Execute comprehensive research and advanced data analysis, including writing SQL for quantitative insights and leading qualitative assessments of unstructured sources (e.g., program documents) to extract essential nuances and contexts. This foundational work will establish analytical frameworks and facilitate evidence-based decision-making for all product features.

  • Clean and Structure Data for Production: Profile, validate, and collaborate with engineering to transform raw, complex data into standardized formats that integrate smoothly with our existing infrastructure, supporting automation.

  • Build and Maintain Data Workflows: Develop and document repeatable processes for efficient data ingestion, comprehensive quality checks, and system maintenance, ensuring scalability.

  • Create and Maintain a Data Audit Structure: Design and implement robust data verification checks within existing frameworks, performing cross-source comparisons to ensure utmost accuracy and data integrity.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Act as the data domain specialist, collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to translate customer needs into effective data solutions and inform the product roadmap. This includes generating quick-turnaround dashboards to validate insights with actual users prior to product release.

  • Document Data Assets: Create and maintain comprehensive data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and process guides that empower teams to utilize data effectively.
