Job Overview
As an R&D Test Technician, you will collaborate with engineers to enhance multi-disciplinary systems focused on the development of new autonomous vehicle concepts and prototypes. Your technical responsibilities will encompass the assembly and testing of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software-driven systems. The ideal candidate will leverage a broad spectrum of technical knowledge and work under tight deadlines to devise practical solutions for complex technical and logistical challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with technical teams and work independently to troubleshoot and complete tasks.
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, specifications, and assembly instructions.
Assemble and integrate mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies.
Integrate electro-mechanical systems into fully operational setups within laboratory test fixtures and during vehicle testing.
Rapidly and autonomously construct functional prototypes for laboratory and field applications.
Install instrumentation and sensors, connecting them to data acquisition (DAQ) hardware.
Adhere to procedures for updating software and firmware.
Follow structured testing plans and procedures to collect data effectively.
Operate and oversee proof of concept, functionality, and reliability tests on components, subsystems, and complete systems.
Participate in testing initiatives both in the laboratory and in marine environments.
Maintain meticulous logs of test results, repairs, and modifications.
Work with the engineering team to analyze test results and implement necessary corrective actions.
Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment (e.g., multimeters, power analyzers, oscilloscopes) to assess and troubleshoot electrical functionality.
Collaborate closely with engineers to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, implementing repairs and corrective measures.
