About Episteme
At Episteme, we are redefining research and development. Our mission is to empower researchers whose work seeks meaningful impact in the world. We provide essential financial, infrastructural, and operational support that enables scientists to concentrate on significant challenges that often fall outside conventional academic or corporate structures. By closely collaborating with researchers, we facilitate the transformation of innovative ideas from initial insights to practical applications. We believe that translating science into real-world solutions is an integral part of our mission, not merely an afterthought. When discoveries are ready, we assist in responsibly introducing them to the world, including through commercialization when appropriate.
Joining Episteme means becoming part of a visionary organization that values clarity over complexity, ownership over passivity, and collaboration free from micromanagement. We embrace the inherent uncertainties of innovation, valuing intellectual honesty and a commitment to thoughtful execution. Our team comprises diverse professionals who are dedicated to rigor, impact, and accountability. Roles evolve based on contributions and trust rather than rigid job descriptions, allowing for rapid testing of ideas, explicit decision-making, and open sharing of learnings for continuous improvement.
What We Look For
To support our scientific ambitions, we seek a Research Operations Manager who will own and enhance the operational frameworks that ensure our research programs maintain clarity, momentum, and accountability. You will be tasked with ensuring that our initiatives progress smoothly under pressure, scale effectively without chaos, and do not rely on informal interventions or constant reminders.
Working autonomously within your defined scope, you will make intentional trade-offs between speed, rigor, and available resources. As ambiguity increases, you will provide structure and alignment without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy.
What You Will Do
You will lead the operational execution, ensuring that workflows progress with clarity, coordination, and follow-through. You will be responsible for making progress visible, maintaining reliable commitments, and fostering a culture of accountability.
