About the job
The Resident Director at PeakMade Real Estate plays a central role in shaping a welcoming and supportive student housing community in Austin, Texas. This position focuses on student well-being, community standards, and building an inclusive environment. The Resident Director is also the main contact for conflict resolution and after-hours emergencies.
What You Will Do
- Build strong relationships with residents and maintain a visible, approachable presence in the community.
- Serve as a trusted resource, offering support and referrals to residents as needed.
- Promote and enforce community policies and housing guidelines to encourage a respectful atmosphere.
- Respond to after-hours situations or emergencies, such as noise complaints, wellness checks, lockouts, and minor incidents.
- Mediate roommate conflicts and assist with resident questions.
- Support move-in and move-out processes, including orientations and inspections.
- Plan and lead community events and engagement activities.
- Conduct regular walk-throughs to spot and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Work closely with property management and student housing staff to keep operations running smoothly.
Qualifications
- Experience in student housing, residential life, or campus leadership is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Dependable, approachable, and committed to creating a positive student living experience.
- Willingness to join an on-call rotation for after-hours support (if applicable).
