Internship Overview:
We are excited to offer a paid rotational internship at M/I Homes for the summer of 2026, designed for those eager to dive into the homebuilding sector. This program provides invaluable hands-on experience across various departments, encompassing the complete journey of developing Communities, Homes, and Relationships. Interns will explore diverse career paths, including land acquisition and development, construction, sales, design, permitting, purchasing, customer care, and financing, gaining insights into how each department contributes to M/I Homes’ achievements. The flexibility of our internships allows participants to delve deeper into specific areas of interest.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gain experience in the construction process through tasks such as:
- Inspecting assigned homes at various construction phases to ensure quality and workflow.
- Scheduling subcontractors and overseeing their work, including the management of materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Acting as a communication bridge between subcontractors and construction management, monitoring work quality, and addressing issues as they arise.
- Engage in land development and acquisition activities, including:
- Market analysis and preparation of preliminary project budgets.
- Evaluating and inspecting potential land acquisitions.
- Attending public meetings and assisting in presentation preparations.
- Monitoring land development schedules.
- Assist in sales and marketing functions, including:
- Supporting new home consultants during the sales process.
- Ensuring model homes are professionally presented for prospective buyers.
- Inputting customer information into the Pivotal system.
- Creating and distributing marketing materials for customers and realtors.
