We are in search of a dedicated Linux Platform Engineer who shares our passion for automation and is enthusiastic about utilizing open-source tools to manage multitenant, highly available services on a grand scale.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a vital member of our engineering team, you will contribute to the planning, development, operation, and ongoing enhancement of our SaaS services for both our clients and Schuberg Philis. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Platform Engineering & Operations:
- Building and refining SaaS services.
- Managing and optimizing Kubernetes environments.
- Ensuring high availability across multiple zones and tenants.
- Automation & Infrastructure as Code:
- Developing and implementing automated deployment and configuration pipelines using tools like Terraform, Chef, and Ansible.
- Minimizing manual tasks through effective scripting (Python, Bash, Go).
- Maintaining reproducible, testable infrastructure patterns.
- Acting as an ambassador for DevOps, GitOps, and continuous delivery principles.
- Collaboration & Customer Engagement:
- Collaborating closely with customer teams to translate their requirements into platform services.
- Assisting customers in adopting new services or capabilities developed by the SaaS team.
- Troubleshooting performance and operational challenges across the entire tech stack.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Evaluating new open and closed-source software and engaging with vendors and open-source communities.
- Implementing enhancements to improve automation, security, or scalability.
- Staying abreast of evolving industry best practices regarding cloud-native and private cloud engineering.
