Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate who can:Oversee and manage safety incidents, ensuring accurate classification, risk evaluation, and timely analysis in alignment with ESM and SAMI protocols. Ensure compliance with UK safety regulations, performing initial impact assessments and coordinating expert reviews. Manage change processes by developing risk assessments and ensuring the proper implementation of safety procedures. Maintain and update the Rolling Stock Risk Register, including supervising key risks and mitigation strategies. Prepare comprehensive reports and contribute to safety governance meetings, driving continuous improvement. Draft, review, and update essential Safety Management System (SMS) documentation. Conduct Level 2 controls and inspections as outlined in the annual safety plan. Monitor external safety alerts and manage the SAIT database to ensure prompt responses and awareness. The ideal candidate will possess:Advanced expertise in risk management and safety leadership within the UK rail sector. Extensive knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and UK Rolling Stock regulations. Strong understanding of ECM (Entity in Charge of Maintenance) legislation and its practical application. Demonstrated experience in rolling stock maintenance, including technical skills and maintenance protocols.

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Safety and Risk Management Specialist - UK within our Rolling Stock team. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the monitoring and management of safety incidents, ensuring regulatory compliance and conducting comprehensive risk assessments across Eurostar's UK Rolling Stock operations. Your responsibilities will include ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, maintaining the risk register, supporting investigations, and fostering continuous improvement through effective governance, insightful reporting, and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.

This permanent position is based at our Temple Mills depot in Leyton, with a hybrid working model. You will be expected to be present at the depot a minimum of three days per week.
