Position: Outbound Sales Representative (Cold Caller)
Schedule: Mountain Standard Time (Dayshift) (Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm MST)
Join us in establishing a robust outbound sales operation as a dedicated and results-oriented Sales Development Representative (Cold Caller) supporting our insurance-focused sales team. This position primarily involves outbound prospecting and setting appointments for licensed insurance professionals.
In this role, you will engage potential customers, assess their insurance needs, pre-qualify prospects, and schedule high-quality appointments that lead to policy sales. This is not your typical call-center position. We seek confident communicators who can think critically, build trust quickly, and thrive in a regulated insurance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-volume outbound prospecting via phone and email
- Adhere to structured outreach sequences, call scripts, and qualification frameworks
- Engage with prospects to identify insurance needs, coverage gaps, and eligibility
- Pre-qualify prospects by gauging interest level, readiness to make decisions, and timing
- Schedule confirmed, qualified appointments for licensed insurance agents
- Maintain precise records in CRM systems
- Consistently meet or surpass performance metrics, including daily call targets of 100–200+ calls
- Conduct follow-up and reminder calls prior to scheduled appointments
- Proactively communicate with internal sales stakeholders about appointment statuses
- Manage reschedules and no-shows, which can be common in insurance sales
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in cold calling, SDR, or outbound appointment setting roles
- Excellent spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate confidently with U. S. consumers
- Strong skills in objection handling and guiding conversations toward next steps
- Coachable and disciplined, capable of adhering to scripts and qualification guidelines
- Results-oriented mindset with a strong sense of accountability
- Comfortable with CRM systems, dialers, and sales tools
- Experience in setting appointments that lead to closed insurance policies is highly desirable
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated sales environments
- Familiarity with insurance products such as health, life, auto, home, or supplemental coverage
- Experience working with U. S.-based prospects
- Prior experience with CRM tools, dialing platforms, Google Sheets, Slack, or similar sales software
