Euromonitor International has a long-standing presence in Japan, partnering with clients across multiple industries. The Corporate Sales team is organized into New Business, Growth, and Key Accounts. The Business Development Account Manager focuses on Growth and Key Accounts, managing a portfolio of existing clients in the consumer products sector.
This role centers on securing contract renewals, increasing revenue, and ensuring Passport, Euromonitor’s flagship product, becomes an integral part of client operations. The aim is to position Passport as a critical strategic resource, supporting renewals and expanding revenue by building strong relationships, understanding client organizations, and identifying new contacts and opportunities. Account Managers are expected to increase the value of current partnerships by embedding Euromonitor’s data and analysis with both existing and potential users.
By understanding why clients use Euromonitor’s information, Account Managers recommend tailored services, which may involve expanding subscriptions or introducing consulting solutions. They also look for hidden revenue opportunities within client requests and interactions.
Revenue Channels
- Applying annual price increases to contract renewals
- Driving growth through syndicated upselling by executing the full Passport upsell strategy
- Generating revenue from account management activities, such as charging for analyst support (extractions, presentations, claim letters)
- Promoting custom research services to all clients
Success in this role requires confidence, initiative, discipline, and a collaborative approach with clients and internal teams to advance commercial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee existing Passport subscribers among leading FMCG companies in Japan
- Secure contract renewals and drive revenue growth for each client
- Develop strong client relationships
- Understand each client’s organizational structure, strategic objectives, and priorities to:
- Expand the user network within client organizations
- Increase product usage
- Communicate Passport’s benefits and Euromonitor’s methodologies effectively
- Establish Passport as an essential resource
- Foster partnership-driven relationships
- Deliver user training sessions in person or online
- Provide expert research support, drawing on in-depth knowledge of Euromonitor’s products and research methods
- Encourage information sharing to improve Passport’s data quality
- Work closely with colleagues in research and across different offices
