The Production Accountant plays a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of production projects. This position involves calculating finances, determining production costs, liaising with financiers, and overseeing cash flow management. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Producers and Production Managers to create budgets and Estimated Final Cost Reports.
- Ensuring adherence to legal requirements and confirming the company's status as a legal trading entity.
- Supervising all payments, managing payroll, petty cash, and foreign currency, while maintaining precise financial records.
- Monitoring budgets, analyzing expenditures, and generating daily or weekly cost reports.
- Creating cost forecasts to assess the impact of production changes.
- Possibly managing bank finance and completion guarantors.
- Finalizing all financial documentation related to the production.
- Arranging for independent audits if necessary.
