We are on the lookout for a dynamic Area Sales Manager – Running to spearhead the growth of our Running category within key specialty and sporting goods accounts. Reporting directly to the Senior National Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing your account portfolio, executing seasonal go-to-market strategies, achieving robust commercial results, and enhancing our brand visibility both in-store and online.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and expand a portfolio of Running specialty and sporting goods accounts, consistently meeting sales and profit objectives.
- Implement seasonal sell-in processes, including pre-lines, range presentations, and order book management.
- Develop and execute joint business plans with key retail partners.
- Analyze sales, margin, and sell-through data to pinpoint growth and re-order opportunities.
- Ensure excellence in in-store and online execution to elevate the consumer experience.
- Collaborate effectively with merchandising, marketing, and eCommerce teams.
- Support and implement trade marketing initiatives, activations, and local events.
- Forge strong relationships with buyers, store personnel, and key stakeholders across accounts.
- Conduct product training and provide technical education to retail teams.
- Manage forecasting, budgeting, and account planning to meet seasonal objectives.
About You
You are a sales professional with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for running and the outdoor industry. You excel in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment, enjoy nurturing relationships, and possess the confidence to influence retail partners for enhanced performance.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, account management, or territory management.
- A background in running, sporting goods, outdoor, or performance footwear/apparel is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and grow specialty retail accounts.
- Strong commercial acumen with analytical skills to derive insights from data.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and influencing abilities.
- Deep understanding of the running consumer and specialty retail landscape.
- Solid grasp of omni-channel retail and eCommerce dynamics.
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills.
