Role overview
The Assistant Manager, Catalog Operations Management, leads a product selection team of 5 to 10 people based in Taipei. This position goes beyond routine management, requiring ownership of team workflows, a sharp eye for detail, and a focus on both productivity and accuracy. The Assistant Manager acts as the technical anchor for product data analysis and process improvements, solving complex problems, training team members, and maintaining high operational standards with minimal oversight.
What you will do
- Team leadership: Guide a team of 5 to 10, manage daily staffing, and ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Performance management: Monitor attendance, conduct evaluations, and support team members in meeting or surpassing expectations.
- Quality and productivity: Oversee the accuracy and speed of outputs, identify workflow bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
- Training: Design and deliver internal training to enhance skills and operational efficiency.
- Process optimization: Analyze and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), recommending smarter solutions where needed.
- Executive support: Complete assignments from supervisors promptly and contribute to department-wide objectives.
Requirements
- Product knowledge: Understanding of product categories and attributes, with the ability to conduct independent research on products and competitors both online and offline.
- Analytical skills: Strong logical reasoning for handling complex data and adapting to change, leading the team toward goals.
- Autonomy and responsibility: Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver results under pressure while managing multiple responsibilities.
- Process improvement: Experience with SOPs and workflow analysis, able to identify and suggest optimizations.
- E-commerce interest: Genuine enthusiasm for e-commerce operations and market trends, with a commitment to continuous self-development.
Preferred qualifications
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis (such as XLOOKUP, COUNTIFS).
- 2 to 3 years in administrative or project management roles.
- Experience leading, coaching, or training team members.
- Background in supervision or management is a plus.
