GiveDirectly logo
Full-time|On-site|Migori

GiveDirectly (GD) is on a mission to revolutionize international philanthropy by delivering cash grants directly to some of the world's most impoverished individuals. According to the Brookings Institution, an estimated $70 billion in cash transfers could effectively close the poverty gap; however, the aid industry currently allocates approximately $135 billion annually, much of which is spent on interventions lacking evidence of effectiveness. GD aims to shift the paradigm by establishing cash transfers as a standard for foreign aid, akin to how index funds serve the finance sector, ultimately accelerating the eradication of extreme poverty.Since our inception in 2011, GD has successfully raised over $1 billion and provided cash assistance to more than 2 million individuals across 15 countries. Our commitment to rigorous, large-scale experimental research has confirmed the profound impact of our initiatives on recipients. As a result, GD has been recognized as one of the most innovative non-profit organizations by Fast Company, and our pivotal role in the cash transfer movement has been highlighted in renowned publications such as the New York Times Magazine, This American Life, Foreign Affairs, and The Economist. Our organizational culture is characterized by transparency, analytical rigor, agility, and a flat hierarchy. With a global team of approximately 150 individuals and local operations teams numbering around 650, we operate in 21 countries and communicate in 69 languages. Our diverse workforce includes software engineers, humanitarian experts, management consultants, public servants, researchers, and field operatives—creating a vibrant workplace environment.Central to our mission are our values, which are intentionally defined.
