As a Benefits Administrator at tgs, you will play a crucial role in the management and execution of our employee benefit programs. This position involves assisting with leave requests and accommodations that require specialized handling, particularly those related to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Your key responsibilities will include:
Administering and maintaining a variety of company benefit programs, including group health, dental, short-term and long-term disability, basic life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, flexible spending accounts, and our 401(k) plan. You'll also be the first point of contact for employees with questions about their benefits.
Acting as a liaison between employees and benefit vendors, providing insights on eligibility, coverage options, and general benefits inquiries.
Ensuring accurate employee eligibility records are maintained within our systems.
Monitoring payroll deductions and elections to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Conducting monthly audits of benefits bills against payroll deductions, preparing and submitting bills for timely payment.
Organizing benefits orientation sessions to educate new hires on our benefits package.
Assisting during the annual open enrollment period, facilitating employees' understanding of their options.
Communicating effectively with employees regarding their leave needs and potential modified work schedules.
Developing written communications related to FMLA processes, including eligibility notices and designation of leave.
Managing the entire FMLA leave process from the initial notice through to the employee's return to work.
Maintaining communication with employees on leave to ensure a smooth transition back to work and keeping managers informed as appropriate.
Advising both managers and employees about the interactions between leave laws and available benefits.
Overseeing the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended leaves.
Facilitating various leave requests, including ADA accommodation requests.
Administering additional time-off programs as assigned, in compliance with internal policies and applicable laws.
Managing the FMLA tracker to monitor usage of leave hours effectively.
Recommending updates to leave policies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Keeping detailed and accurate records of all leave and accommodation requests, adhering to legal requirements and best practices.
Staying informed about all relevant leave and accommodation laws.
