In collaboration with the project Team Coordinators and management, the Benefits Verification Specialist is responsible for reaching out to insurance providers to confirm patient-specific benefits on behalf of the physician’s office. The specialist will ask targeted questions to understand the patient's benefits and accurately record this information through data entry and necessary forms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Gather and assess all necessary patient insurance data to carry out the benefits verification process efficiently.
· Confirm patient-specific benefits and meticulously document details for various payer plans, including coverage options, cost-sharing, and access to providers, all in accordance with program-specific SOPs.
· The verification process may involve electronic confirmation of pharmacy coverage and medical eligibility.
· Identify any limitations and provide guidance on expediting patient access.
· May require initiating the prior authorization process, claims appeals, and other related tasks.
· Conduct quality reviews of work to ensure accuracy before finalization.
· Report any reimbursement trends or delays to the supervisor.
· Engage in additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
· Ability to thrive in a dynamic office environment.
· Work demands focus, adaptability, and flexibility in response to evolving work conditions.
· This position requires prolonged periods of sitting.
