TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR HIRING A PROJECT MANAGER GENERAL INFORMATION Start Month To be determined Available Positions 1 position PROGRAM OVERVIEW: Established in 1977, GOAL is an international humanitarian and development agency dedicated to collaborating with communities to achieve sustainable and innovative early responses in crisis situations, as well as long-term solutions to poverty and vulnerability. GOAL has operated in over 60 countries and has responded to nearly all major humanitarian disasters. GOAL began its operations in Latin America and the Caribbean in 1998, following the devastation caused by Hurricane Mitch in Honduras, which resulted in more than 10,000 people dead or missing, displaced hundreds of thousands, and delayed economic development in the subregion for decades. In the years that followed, GOAL implemented a significant emergency relief and recovery program focused primarily on Honduras, the country hardest hit by the disaster. After this relief effort, GOAL established a regional base in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, from which it began developing a broader program in the LAC (Latin America and the Caribbean) region to address the humanitarian needs of this disaster-prone area and tackle the root causes of vulnerability and poverty related to high levels of social exclusion and inequality. By 2025, interventions within the Green Economy program are expected to be implemented, aimed at strengthening productive systems to make them more climate-resilient, optimizing productive transformation processes, and stimulating local economies, thereby contributing to human well-being with better access to health and nutrition opportunities. The adopted approach will integrate a multi-ethnic and multicultural perspective, including an incentive system to promote good practices, as well as comprehensive management of agro-productive processes, with the goal of improving food security and adaptation to climate change. POSITION OBJECTIVE: Ensure compliance with the established goals and objectives of the project, while leading a team to drive successful implementation and monitoring of activities.
