As a Food Category Manager, you will be pivotal in optimizing sales for a designated range of food products. Your role encompasses vendor relations, pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and inventory management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify market opportunities, develop effective strategies, and implement initiatives that enhance operational productivity.
- Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure timely market entry of new products.
- Conduct in-depth market research to assess demand for various food products.
- Curate a selection of unique offerings, services, exclusive brands, and promotional strategies.
- Oversee brand management for both developed and exclusive brands.
- Assist in formulating plans for new products or services informed by market insights and consumer feedback.
- Attend international trade shows to spot emerging trends and source promising products and brands.
- Provide competitive positioning insights.
- Manage product assortment and selection to align with store concepts.
- Adhere to promotional guidelines and pricing strategies.
- Conduct regular category reviews at all levels (product, space, brand, supplier) to track performance and meet targets.
- Oversee stock management, service levels, product movement, and allocation strategies.
- Facilitate daily and periodic replenishment orders for local and international supplies.
- Strategically position products for maximum visibility.
