Your Responsibilities:

In your role as a Senior Accountant, you will manage the accounting operations for various infrastructure assets across Canada and the USA. Your primary responsibilities will encompass overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, including transaction accounting, journal entries, invoice processing, accounts payable and receivable, as well as account reconciliations. You will ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and ASPE while supporting the accurate and timely maintenance of financial records. Collaborating closely with staff accountants and Finance Managers, this position offers you the opportunity for professional growth, including exposure to financial modeling and contract management.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee record keeping and general ledger maintenance, ensuring the accuracy of sales invoices, incoming payments, and supplier statements.

  • Prepare monthly journal entries with a focus on compliance and accuracy, and conduct account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial data.

  • Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with project requirements.

  • Generate monthly and quarterly financial statements and manage the month-end close to guarantee compliance.

  • Prepare year-end audit working papers and act as a liaison with external auditors.

  • Compile tax schedules and coordinate with external tax advisors for corporate tax return preparation and filing.

  • Mentor and guide junior staff as part of a collaborative team.

  • Perform additional duties as required.
