Position: Senior Accounts Payable Specialist (H/F)

Main Responsibilities

The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist is accountable for the comprehensive management of the supplier invoice processing cycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance with internal policies, control procedures, and legal requirements.

This role is crucial during monthly and annual closing activities, including the preparation of reconciliations, accrued expense estimations, and various reports to ensure accurate representation of accounts payable in financial statements.

Key Activities:

Invoice Processing & Compliance

  • Record supplier invoices in accordance with SYSCOHADA accounting standards.
  • Ensure each invoice is accompanied by the necessary supporting documents (purchase orders, contracts, delivery notes, etc.).
  • Verify the correct application of VAT, withholding tax, and other tax obligations.
  • Coding of other payments (payments to non-supplier third parties) in compliance with OHADA regulations and internal procedures.

Financial Reporting

  • Actively participate in monthly closing activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements in accordance with OHADA and IFRS standards.
  • Ensure proper documentation for tax audits, legal audits, and internal control reviews is maintained.

Inter-Departmental Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with Procurement, Treasury, and Operations teams to ensure a smooth and efficient Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) cycle.
  • Engage in the continuous improvement of the accounts payable process, including optimization of ERP/IFS systems.
