Future plc, a leader in digital media, relies on data to shape the experiences delivered by brands such as Tom's Guide, Marie Claire, PC Gamer, and CinemaBlend. The Senior Analytics Engineer will play a central role in moving from raw data systems to organized Data Products that become the trusted source for insights across the company.
This position focuses on building and documenting Data Products that support Looker dashboards, machine learning models in Vertex AI, and conversational analytics tools. The goal: make data accessible, reliable, and actionable for teams across Future plc.
What You Will Do
- Data Modeling and Transformation: Lead the design and rollout of advanced data transformation pipelines using Dataform, turning raw data into scalable, production-ready Data Products.
- SQL Architecture: Rework existing business logic into modular, scalable SQL code that captures institutional knowledge and supports company growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with BI, Data Engineering, and Data Science teams to translate business needs into structured data schemas and maintain alignment.
- Engineering Best Practices: Promote strong software engineering practices within analytics, including version control with GitLab, code reviews, and improvements to CI/CD processes.
- Project Leadership: Manage the full data product lifecycle with tools like Jira, ensuring transparency and impact from project start to production.
- Data Quality and Reliability: Set and uphold standards for data quality by implementing automated testing frameworks and observability systems.
- Data Lineage and Documentation: Create and maintain thorough documentation of data sources and transformations, enabling technical teams to work confidently with data assets.
