Salary: Competitive base with commission. First-year on-target earnings are approximately £60k.
Location: Hybrid role based in Lincoln. Expect to spend 1-2 days per week at the Lincoln office, with the remainder remote. Regular travel to client offices, as well as to London and Sheffield, is required. Travel expenses are covered.
Role overview
The Senior Business Development Manager (Insurance) focuses on building strong relationships with major account clients and integrating Goodlord's Rent Protection product into their business strategies. This position involves delivering training to agent networks to increase customer engagement and expand the insurance portfolio. Mentoring junior team members and sharing expertise is also a key part of the role.
Day-to-day work includes operating in a target-driven environment, engaging with senior decision-makers (including C-suite), and collaborating with insurance and account management teams to identify new opportunities and improve processes. Success is measured by sales performance, customer satisfaction, and compliance with regulatory standards. Contributing to a culture of personal and professional growth is important here.
Requirements
- Proven experience in B2B sales, including upselling and cross-selling
- Ability to build rapport and trust with clients both remotely and in person
- Comfortable working towards targets, with resilience and drive under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the insurance industry is an advantage
