Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field; CPCU, ARM, or similar designation preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of underwriting experience, with at least 1 year focused on captive underwriting. Capability to propose innovative underwriting solutions. Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in Excel and underwriting software. Exceptional communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects in a dynamic environment. Thorough understanding of stop loss, self-funded plans, and captive insurance structures.

About the Role:

The Senior Captive Underwriter is instrumental in assessing, structuring, and pricing captive insurance programs. This individual will spearhead underwriting activities for intricate captive opportunities, collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, and support the strategic expansion of Crumdale’s captive insurance portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead underwriting for new and renewal captive programs, encompassing group, single-parent, and cell captives.
  • Evaluate risk profiles, claims data, and actuarial reports to develop effective pricing models and coverage structures.
  • Work closely with actuarial, sales, and legal teams to ensure cohesive program design and implementation.
  • Deliver underwriting recommendations to internal committees and external clients.
  • Uphold underwriting guidelines and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
  • Engage in the development and assessment of alternative cell risk management strategies.
  • Guide junior underwriters and contribute to their training and development.
  • Assist in business development initiatives by participating in client meetings and industry events.
