About the job

We are seeking a seasoned energy system consultant to join our dynamic Energy & Utilities practice at Sia. This role demands extensive expertise in the Distribution System Operator (DSO) or Transmission System Operator (TSO) sectors. As a consultant, you will immediately engage with one of our esteemed clients, influencing the transformation of the energy sector as it navigates towards the 'New Energy Reality'. This paradigm shift is defined by innovative methods of energy generation, transmission, distribution, and evolving consumer behavior. Grid operators must proactively address the challenges posed by this transition.

In your consultancy role, you will embark on the next chapter of your career focused on integrated energy system planning, business analysis, and project management. You will be invigorated by the ambitious Dutch offshore wind targets (21GW by 2030), the infrastructural complexities accompanying these goals, and the requisite storage and conversion strategies necessary for system flexibility. Your mission will be to facilitate the energy transition while understanding the proactive measures grid operators must undertake.

At the client site, you will contribute to projects aimed at enhancing capabilities and developing tools to address long-term grid planning, system integration across power and gas sectors, and shaping energy policies. Your insights will directly impact grid planning decisions concerning costs, socio-economic welfare, and CO2 emissions in the energy landscape. This role combines robust stakeholder engagement, business analysis, project management, integrated energy system optimization, and data analysis/reporting.

The opportunity to expand your knowledge across diverse energy sectors awaits you. Beyond your client responsibilities, you will also play a pivotal role in developing our team through contributions to our strategic initiatives, business development, recruitment, knowledge sharing, and training.
