Key Responsibilities:Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial agreements for Perplexity Enterprise Pro and API clients, which includes Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Order Forms, SaaS subscription contracts, API terms, Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), managing deals from initial redline to signing. Act as the main legal partner for enterprise sales and GTM teams, delivering swift, pragmatic, and business-focused legal advice that enhances deal flow without sacrificing risk management. Advance Perplexity's data security and compliance posture through the negotiation of data processing agreements and security addenda, and by effectively responding to customer security and compliance inquiries in coordination with our Security and Privacy teams. Provide legal counsel on specific AI-related considerations in enterprise and API agreements, such as acceptable use, data retention and training limitations, output liability, and compliance with evolving regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, CCPA/CPRA, GDPR). Develop and maintain scalable legal resources, including contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and fallback strategies to support high-volume enterprise transactions and streamline the sales process. Continuously improve legal processes and tools such as Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems and self-service workflows to enhance efficiency.
