Role Overview

The Senior Data Engineer will help advance Flatiron Health’s mission: improving and extending lives by learning from every person affected by cancer. This position centers on designing and building data pipeline frameworks and technologies, working closely with software engineering teams in New York. The role also collaborates with colleagues in the UK, Germany, and Japan, and partners with oncologists, clinicians, product leaders, quantitative scientists, and clients to solve real-world challenges in cancer care.

What You Will Do

  • Design, build, and improve business-critical data pipelines using a range of data processing tools and automation methods.
  • Implement ETL frameworks to ensure data products are reliable, high-quality, and comprehensive.
  • Investigate ways to integrate new AI technologies with existing systems.
  • Develop creative technical and business solutions to help the team scale.
  • Help shape the team’s roadmap and contribute to technology decisions.
  • Iterate quickly on products while following engineering practices that support stability, extensibility, and security.
  • Build knowledge of the US healthcare landscape, including data sources, security, privacy, and information governance.
