Qualifications
ResponsibilitiesPipeline Engineering: Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines from various sources, including Data Lakes, Production ClickHouse instances, flat files, and APIs. Infrastructure & Orchestration: Optimize and configure our Data Warehouse infrastructure (ClickHouse) and orchestration layers (Mage.ai). Engineering Excellence: Implement and oversee engineering-grade CI/CD workflows, conduct thorough PR reviews, and ensure strong dependency management across the stack. Data Modeling & Architecture: Implement Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) while maintaining high-performance data models utilizing dbt. Quality & Observability: Develop automated data quality monitoring and alerting systems; escalate upstream data issues proactively to engineering teams while keeping stakeholders informed of pipeline health. Advanced Data Flows: Create reverse ETL (rETL) pipelines and develop secure data APIs to facilitate seamless data consumption organization-wide. Strategic Integration: Handle event streaming and real-time data ingestion (Kafka, CDC) to support high-volume product analytics and tracking. Nice to HaveProficiency in Arabic. Located in Saudi Arabia (Jeddah, Makkah). Experience with Kafka or Change Data Capture (CDC) integrations. Background in the e-commerce sector. Experience in API development for data distribution. Requirements4–7 years of experience in Data Engineering, ideally within the e-commerce or high-growth tech sectors. Expertise in Python and SQL, capable of writing highly optimized code for large-scale datasets. In-depth experience with dbt for transformation and modeling. Strong familiarity with ClickHouse (preferred) or similar modern data warehouses.
