As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and expansion of our cutting-edge data platform. This hands-on position requires you to build reliable data pipelines, create data models for analytics, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the business and engineering sectors. You will leverage top-tier technologies such as Snowflake, DBT, FiveTran, and various AWS services to develop effective and scalable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, construct, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using tools like FiveTran, DBT, Python, and Snowpipe within Snowflake.
- Integrate workflows utilizing AWS services, including S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena, and CloudWatch.
- Administer and optimize Snowflake environments, including user roles, warehouse sizing, access controls, and performance tuning.
- Develop and maintain dimensional and normalized data models in Snowflake.
- Implement data transformation logic with DBT and SQL to ensure accuracy and maintainability.
- Convert raw data into reliable datasets for analytics and operational use.
- Collaborate with other teams to gather data requirements and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and security are upheld at all times.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, setting up logging and alerting systems.
- Engage in code reviews, documentation, and promote best practices in data engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms like Shopify, NetSuite, or Segment.
- Experience with Python and BI visualization tools like Looker.
- Background in e-commerce, SaaS, or financial analytics.
- Knowledge of orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5-7 years of software development experience, with a minimum of 5 years in data or analytics engineering.
- Proficient in using Snowflake, DBT, FiveTran, and SQL in a production environment.
- Experience in designing and managing AWS data pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Knowledge of data governance, performance tuning, and security practices.
