Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the Design Process

  • Direct and manage design projects across the UK and internationally.
  • Handle AECOM's financial processes, including invoicing.
  • Evaluate team outputs before distribution to ensure quality and adherence to contractual obligations.

Supervise Sub-consultants

  • Create a responsibility matrix to clarify sub-consultant roles for each scope area.
  • Prepare and disseminate back-to-back contracts for sub-consultants to ensure comprehensive scope coverage.
  • Update sub-consultant contracts and finalize documentation.
  • Generate and revise cash flow projections.
  • Establish and oversee procedures for sub-consultant invoice submission.
  • Monitor and report on the status of all sub-consultant invoices, compiling a monthly financial report.

Development and Implementation of Design Management Procedures:

  • Define roles and responsibilities and outline scope.
  • Draft design programs and track progress.
  • Manage deliverables and outputs.
  • Ensure design quality standards are met.
  • Oversee design budgets and changes.
  • Facilitate approvals.
  • Coordinate project meetings and design workshops.
  • Manage design coordination efforts.

Assist in Leading the Design Management Team

  • Achieve AECOM PM accreditation and actively manage design projects in line with AECOM financial systems.
  • Lead or support design management initiatives both nationally and internationally as necessary.
  • Guide the growth of junior members of the Design Management team through mentorship and training.
  • Review outputs from junior team members to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Support the leadership of the Design Management team as needed.
