Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing the Design Process
- Lead and manage Design Management projects both in the UK and internationally.
- Oversee AECOM's financial processes and invoicing practices.
- Conduct thorough reviews of team outputs prior to distribution to ensure adherence to quality standards and contractual obligations.
Managing Sub-consultants
- Develop a responsibility matrix to clearly delineate sub-consultant responsibilities for each project scope.
- Create and distribute back-to-back contracts for sub-consultants to ensure comprehensive scope coverage.
- Oversee updates to sub-consultant contracts and prepare final documentation.
- Prepare and revise cash flow projections.
- Establish and monitor procedures for sub-consultant invoice submissions.
- Track and report on sub-consultant invoice progress, compiling a monthly Financial Report.
Establishment and Implementation of Design Management Procedures:
Roles and Responsibilities/Scope Delineation
- Prepare design programmes, closely monitor and report on progress.
- Manage deliverables and outputs.
- Ensure high standards of design quality.
- Control design budgets and manage changes effectively.
- Facilitate design approvals.
- Organize project meetings and design workshops.
- Oversee design coordination efforts.
Supporting the Management of the Design Management Team
- Achieve AECOM PM accreditation while actively managing design projects in alignment with AECOM financial systems and processes.
- Lead or support Design Management projects in the UK and internationally as needed.
- Assist in the professional development of junior Design Management team members through mentoring, training, and performance reviews.
- Review outputs from junior team members to ensure quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Provide support to the Design Management team leadership as necessary.
