Qualifications12+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with a strong focus on Employee Relations and HR Operations.5+ years of experience in leading and developing people managers and teams. Comprehensive understanding of employment law and HR compliance across the employee lifecycle, including hiring, classification, compensation, performance management, leaves, and separations. Demonstrated experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, including HR diligence, integration, and change management. Robust knowledge of benefits administration, capable of providing effective oversight without daily management. Proven ability to scale HR and L&D infrastructure in a rapidly growing environment.

About the job

The Senior Director of Human Resources will spearhead Viant’s essential people operations, employee relations, and learning & development initiatives. As a key senior leader, you will be tasked with managing and nurturing HR and L&D teams while driving operational excellence and supporting the organization through periods of growth, change, and transformation. This role requires a blend of hands-on execution and large-scale strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop teams in Employee Relations, HR Operations, and Learning & Development, ensuring effective management of Benefits through established processes and partnerships.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex employee relations issues, collaborating with Legal and executive leadership to ensure fair, consistent, and compliant resolutions.
  • Oversee learning & development programs, including onboarding, manager development, leadership training, and career advancement initiatives in alignment with L&D leadership.
  • Pursue HR operational excellence by scaling policies, processes, and systems to accommodate a growing multi-state organization.
  • Play a pivotal role in M&A activities, including HR due diligence, integration planning, change management, and execution post-close.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, performance management, and enhancing leadership capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, particularly in a public-company and multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Leverage people data, operational metrics, and learning outcomes to inform decisions and enhance HR and L&D initiatives continuously.
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal, and other People leaders to deliver a seamless employee experience.
