The Partner Operations team is a vital component of Marqeta's expansive Go-To-Market Organization, fulfilling two critical roles. Our bank and network partnership teams formulate global strategies to enhance our core technology and offerings in credit, debit, prepaid cards, and money movement services. Simultaneously, our solution design and delivery teams offer guidance and support to clients in launching customized, top-tier solutions that align with their business objectives.
We are in search of a highly experienced and strategic Senior Director of Network Partnerships to spearhead the development, management, and optimization of pivotal relationships with our network partners, including payments, debit, ATM, and various money movement providers. In this role, you will be tasked with stimulating growth, maximizing incentives, managing contractual obligations, and establishing advantageous terms to enhance the company's economic framework. Furthermore, you will craft and implement a comprehensive strategy to ensure we uphold a balanced mix of network partners that support the diverse range of our products and services. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to align network partnerships with the company's overarching objectives and growth targets.
The ideal candidate will possess a robust track record in cultivating and managing successful network partnerships within the card payments and issuing ecosystem, showcasing extensive expertise in engaging with card networks, issuing banks, and payment processors. A profound understanding of the complete card issuing lifecycle, network economics (including interchange, assessments, and incentives), as well as the regulatory and operational facets of card programs is essential. Experience within the financial services, payments, or fintech sectors is a must.
Exceptional negotiation skills are crucial, enabling you to balance strategic and financial objectives to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Strong analytical abilities will facilitate the optimization of partnership terms and data-driven decision-making. Excellent communication skills are required to influence and build rapport at all organizational levels, both internally and externally. As a visionary leader, you will design and execute innovative strategies that shape long-term success while leveraging deep industry insights into networking products and services.
