YOUR MISSION
Your mission is to equip Mural’s product engineers and designers with the tools to create outstanding frontend experiences with confidence. You will design and enhance scalable frontend platform systems that support rapid experimentation while ensuring long-term maintainability. Your work will facilitate better decision-making, prevent redundant solutions, and provide reliable, accessible, high-performance experiences for millions of users. This position is ideal for engineers who relish the ownership of systems, setting standards, and enhancing the effectiveness of others.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design, build, and maintain frontend platform systems with React and TypeScript, focusing on clarity, extensibility, and long-term sustainment.
- Develop shared component libraries and design systems in close collaboration with Design and Product teams, balancing consistency with flexibility.
- Define and evolve frontend architectural patterns that enable teams to ship safely, debug efficiently, and scale seamlessly.
- Create developer tooling, documentation, and examples that lower cognitive load and enhance onboarding, testing, and reuse across teams.
- Ensure platform performance, accessibility, and reliability by maintaining high standards for shared components.
- Identify and resolve systemic challenges in the frontend development lifecycle at the platform level instead of relying on one-off fixes.
- Engage with product teams early to comprehend challenges and propose solutions that minimize costs and risks.
- Participate in code reviews and platform governance to elevate standards through example and constructive feedback.
- Mentor and influence fellow engineers through sound judgment, effective communication, and high-quality work.
