Loft Orbital is looking for a Senior Ground Segment Engineer in San Francisco, CA. This position focuses on developing and maintaining the software and systems that connect our growing fleet of satellites to ground stations and inter-satellite links. The work involves managing multiple satellite buses and configurations, ensuring reliable and scalable communication across the network.
What You Will Do
- Configure Cockpit, Loft’s mission control system, to improve ground segment connectivity.
- Collaborate with ground station providers and internal product teams to strengthen our communications infrastructure.
- Oversee cross-fleet contact allocation and planning, aiming to maximize communication opportunities and minimize latency.
- Work closely with teams across Space Infrastructure, Spacecraft Deployment, Mission Deployment and Execution, and regulatory functions to manage and prepare satellites for operations.
- Participate as a rotating Flight Director, monitoring and ensuring the health and safety of the satellite fleet.
