YOUR MISSION
As the Senior Manager of Contracts, you will be the company's inaugural dedicated contracts hire within the Legal Department, managing U. S. Department of Defense contracts from proposal support through to award, post-award performance, and final closeout. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will collaborate with the proposal and business development teams, program managers, and engineers to ensure contracts are structured, administered, and closed in compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
This hands-on role in our growing legal department allows you to manage your own portfolio of contracts from day one, granting you significant autonomy and serving as a primary point of contact with government Contracting Officers and Contracting Officer Representatives. The ideal candidate will possess the judgment and initiative that comes from working in a lean organization, demonstrating the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
A key component of this role is the development of a contracts team. Working closely with the General Counsel, you will assess staffing needs, recruit contract administrators, and establish the necessary processes and structures to scale the contracts function as the company expands. Until the team is fully established, and whenever the workload demands, you will continue to take on individual contract management responsibilities.
