ABOUT LUMILENS
Lumilens is at the forefront of developing the essential photonics infrastructure that will drive the AI supercomputing of the future. Our innovations span from chip-to-chip optical interconnects to scalable photonic engines, paving the way for a new era of computing that is faster, cooler, and significantly more efficient.
As a well-capitalized startup supported by Mayfield and led by industry veterans who have successfully built and scaled transformative technologies, we offer a unique opportunity to fundamentally rethink the optical layer from the silicon level up. You will collaborate with a team of elite engineers tackling some of the most challenging problems in optics, systems, and scaling. Every line of code and every design decision you contribute to will be instrumental in shaping the infrastructure of tomorrow.
If you are driven by purpose, eager to be part of a high-impact journey, and ready to join a dynamic team, we invite you to join us as we embark on this exciting venture.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Senior Optical Manufacturing Test Engineer focused on software automation, you will be responsible for test automation and networking protocols. Your work will involve validating complex systems at Layer 1 and Layer 2 utilizing tools such as Ixia and developing Python-based frameworks. This pivotal role is crucial for validating and assuring the quality of Lumilens’ photonic components, modules, and systems, integrating hands-on production testing with software test development and reporting, while supporting both New Product Introduction (NPI) and volume manufacturing.
You will closely collaborate with optical design, hardware, and manufacturing teams to execute design for manufacturing, calibration, characterization, and troubleshooting.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with design engineering and manufacturing teams to define and develop test software for high-volume production of premium optical components.
Take ownership of end-to-end manufacturing testing: Ensure that all modifications and upgrades to test and manufacturing software are managed under change control and comply with established Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. This includes overseeing software revision control, bug tracking, tester updates, regression testing, test logs, and more.
Maintain up-to-date documentation and test specifications. Employ systematic processes for managing test cases, results, and defect tracking.
Demonstrate proficiency in version control systems such as GitHub or Bitbucket.
Conduct functional, regression, and performance testing on Layer 1 and Layer 2 network systems. Validate hardware and software performance.
