POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Senior Optical Manufacturing Test Engineer focused on software automation, you will be responsible for test automation and networking protocols. Your work will involve validating complex systems at Layer 1 and Layer 2 utilizing tools such as Ixia and developing Python-based frameworks. This pivotal role is crucial for validating and assuring the quality of Lumilens’ photonic components, modules, and systems, integrating hands-on production testing with software test development and reporting, while supporting both New Product Introduction (NPI) and volume manufacturing.

You will closely collaborate with optical design, hardware, and manufacturing teams to execute design for manufacturing, calibration, characterization, and troubleshooting.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with design engineering and manufacturing teams to define and develop test software for high-volume production of premium optical components.

  • Take ownership of end-to-end manufacturing testing: Ensure that all modifications and upgrades to test and manufacturing software are managed under change control and comply with established Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. This includes overseeing software revision control, bug tracking, tester updates, regression testing, test logs, and more.

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and test specifications. Employ systematic processes for managing test cases, results, and defect tracking.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in version control systems such as GitHub or Bitbucket.

  • Conduct functional, regression, and performance testing on Layer 1 and Layer 2 network systems. Validate hardware and software performance.
