Your Role and Impact
As the Senior Payroll Manager for the APAC region, you will spearhead the operational excellence of our payroll function, guaranteeing accuracy and efficiency for our workforce across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. Collaborating closely with the General Manager of Payroll, you will adeptly navigate a constantly evolving legislative environment to ensure that all deliverables adhere to the highest standards of compliance.
Your primary focus will be to transition the team away from manual data entry towards a sophisticated validation model utilizing automation and AI technologies. You will be instrumental in advocating for payroll governance and driving strategic growth across the region, ensuring that our processes remain resilient as we expand as a leading global SaaS organization.
The Team and Collaboration
You will lead a skilled and diverse team of payroll professionals located in Melbourne and New Zealand, cultivating a culture of coaching, empowerment, and psychological safety. This position serves as a vital partner to our People Experience and Finance teams, ensuring the complete employee journey is supported by timely and accurate information.
Initial Focus Areas
Stabilizing and enhancing the recently implemented Ramco payroll system to resolve initial challenges and boost process effectiveness.
Preparing systems and personnel for the upcoming transition to 'payday super' legislation and other evolving Fair Work and ATO requirements.
Implementing automated integration solutions, potentially leveraging AI, to streamline data flow between Workday and our payroll engines.
Improving process documentation and issue tracking to enhance operational maturity and mitigate recurring bottlenecks.
